Today was our last full day of our school year, so our assignment list is rather boring! We had a good day cleaning out our lockers, turning in books and iPads, walking to McDonald's/Burger King for Lunch, and watching "McFarland" in the cool comfort of Mr. Haynes room.
Tonight is 8th grade graduation at 6:30. We have plenty of seating if you would like to join us.
Tomorrow morning will be our end-of-year school picnic, beginning at 8:30 AM and ending at about 11:30. It will be hot outside, so bring plenty of water. Other hand items to bring include sunscreen, lawn chairs or blankets, snacks, shade umbrellas--and, did I say plenty of water? Students should leave electronic items and sports equipment at home. The picnic is a free dress activity, but the school dress code still applies. Please glance at yesterday's post for more specifics. Lunch will be provided by the school--hot dogs, chips, and cookies.
Thursday will be our closing chapel and Kindergarten graduation, beginning at 8:30 AM. Students will receive their final report cards after chapel and be dismissed at about 10:00 AM. As a reminder, students must turn in overdue library books, text books, and locks before they will received their report card.
I think that's about it, so I hope to see you here for graduation. If not, I'll look forward to seeing you for the picnic tomorrow. :)

Sixth graders, have your iPads charged and ready to turn in tomorrow. For those students whose iPads have broken screens, I will be getting back to you in the next day or so with information.
Tomorrow is our last academic day. Also, we will be cleaning out our lockers, so bring some extra bags to help with stashing your stuff. You will have PE; make sure your uniforms and shoes are here. Further, tomorrow will be our "walking lunch" to McDonald's/Burger King. Yes, you will need to bring money so you can buy food. :) In addition to all our other activities, the 8th graders will be graduating at 6:30 tomorrow evening--hope you can join us for a great time.
Wednesday is the end-of-year picnic here at school. Festivities begin at 8:30 AM and we should be finished by about 11:30 AM. Bring lawn chairs, sunscreen (& hats), and lots of water. BLS is supplying a hot dog lunch, complete with chips and cookies. While the picnic is a free dress day, the
school dress code still applies. You can check out the handbook online if you're unsure about attire. Basically, the guidelines state no tank tops, no flip-flops, no short shorts (must be within 4 inches of knee), no baggy shorts that show underwear, etc. We will be running around and competing in all kinds of fun games, so choose shoes accordingly.
Finally, Thursday will be our closing chapel and Kindergarten graduation. Chapel will begin at about 8:35 AM and students will be dismissed around 10:00 AM for summer break. Of course, parents and caregivers are always invited to join us.
