Tuesday Update

The 6th graders were very enthusiastic today.  :)  In literature, we spent some time working on our Part 6 worksheet which is due on Friday.  Also, we managed to get into the Tech Lab to work on the writing assignment that goes with our worksheet.  The students are writing an Epilogue to the story and focusing on Jim Hawkins' life several years after he returns from Treasure Island.  We have some excellent plots taking shape!

Also, today was our library day, so we had some time for just reading (ideally on our self-selected novel).  By the way, it's really important for the students to have their novels here at school each day.

In science, we began discussing our science project which will be due at the end of February.  For starters, we are looking at what types of questions are really testable and, therefore, good candidates for investigating.  I was delighted when a debate student from last trimester evaluated a question about superheroes as not really testable and added "that would be like a proposition of values!"  Hooray!
