Welcome back to our first full week of classes after the Christmas break! We're working on the following things:
Literature:
Finish reading ch 1 of A Single Shard for tomorrow.
6th Science:
Decide on a question to investigate for your science project (due 2/26); begin searching for information about your topic. Worksheet due Friday, 1/11.
Christian Studies:
Memorize Hebrews 11:1. FYI, we worked through page 100 and worksheet 47 in class today.
English/Writing:
Friday's assignment (pp 124-125) was due today. Continue planning and working on your graham cracker house story.
Social Studies:
Read pp 169-173; questions #1-3 on p 173
Math:
#16-44 evens
7th Science:
Took notes on anatomy & movement of water waves. Scientific investigation question OR problem to be solved for an engineering design due Friday, 1/11. Final project due 2/26.
8th Science:
Began discussing Rube Goldberg machine project due 2/5. Viewed selected Rube Goldberg videos.
Music:
Elective (String Art): Continued work on projects.
In literature we are reading a novel about a young orphan in 12th century Korea. We viewed a PowerPoint slideshow with Korean landscapes and, most importantly, images of Korean celedon pottery. Then, we began reading chapter 1 together. Why not ask your student for a brief summary of what they learned and read today? :)
