Today, we began building background for our next class novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, by viewing and discussing a PowerPoint about the "Jim Crow" laws in the deep south. Since this was a very disturbing time in our country's history, you might want to discuss the concept of racism with your student. I have attached a copy of the PowerPoint to our blog email FYI. Also, we are creating posters illustrating our March theme verse, 2 Timothy 3:16. The 6th graders are coming up with very interesting ways to show the meaning of our verse. :)
Tomorrow is a free dress day. If you have questions about the dress code or appropriate attire, the Handbook is on the school's website--just click the Parent Portal link.. In addition to free dress, we'll be celebrating our "movie day" tomorrow afternoon!
