It's good to be back!  Today was a busy day with lots of excitement reverberating through our classroom.  :) Math 1 is busy creating equivalent fractions and writing fractions in their simplest forms.  In Literature, we are starting a self-selected novel unit.  Each student needs to choose a novel (fiction) and have it approved by me (and parents).  Novels must be at school by Monday, 1/13, and students will be reading during class as well as at home.  I'm planning on giving the 6th graders three full weeks to complete their reading and will be guiding them in their selections based upon our recent A-R testing.  As a response project, students will be creating a scrapbook style poster to share with the class (due 2/7).

In Christian Studies, we discussed the significance of Epiphany and the importance of witnessing about Jesus and His redeeming work.  We also looked up several scriptures,  recording some of the many names/titles given to our Lord.  Tomorrow we will begin designing posters about the names of Jesus.
