I hope you all had a refreshing three-day weekend. :) Today, we hit the deck running. In literature, we had a rousing class discussion about plot and its four mail elements, using Tolstoy's short story, "Jump," as our focus text. Afterwards, we enjoyed our first library session of the new year, followed by a few minutes of silent reading. Other morning activities included prepping our science notebooks and exploring how setting priorities can support our success as learners.
During Christian Studies, our main emphasis was on the first commandment, "You shall have no other gods before me." We looked at several verses and then discussed what the commandment meant, as well as how we sometimes create idols in our own lives. We also reviewed Matthew's words in chapter 22 that we should love God with all our hearts and souls and minds.
Ms. Trulove asked me to pass on a little information regarding Gradelink. Apparently, there was an error in her class list, so the scores she entered were incorrect. She has deleted the grades and will re-enter them soon. Just FYI. :)
Have a fun evening!
