Wow!  It's Friday already! 

The gym dedication scheduled for Monday, 5/6, has been cancelled.  The bleachers have just arrived and will be installed next week, so watch the Newslice for a revised new date.  Also, please remember to set aside a pair of PE shoes for your student(s) to wear only inside the gym.  The shoes don't need to be new, but the soles should be scrubbed clean and should not be black. 

Also on Monday, photos for the baseball and softball teams will be taken at practice.

Tuesday will be the next MSP testing day for 6th graders.  We will be taking the end of year reading test, starting at 8:45 AM, so it will be important for students to arrive on time.  Also, a nutritious breakfast and good night's sleep will help the kiddos concentrate.  :)

Thursday, 5/9, is going to be a special class lunch day.  We are going to order pizza!  Monday, a sign-up form will be going around and students will bring money based on the number of slices they order.  Just thought a heads-up might be a good idea. 

Many of you know Mrs. McCollum, our volunteer librarian.  She has decided to retire at the end of this school year and we are going to miss her.  The school families are invited to contribute to our "Dori Dollars" fund which will be used to buy gift cards for downloading e-books.  If you would like to participate, simply have your child bring a dollar to Mrs. Jameson in the office and it will be added to the fund.  This is a surprise, so don't tell Mrs. McCollum what we are doing. 

Last, Indoor Olympics will take place on Friday, 5/24.  Be sure to mark your calendar and join us for a fantastic morning of fun and games.  Also, we are looking for volunteers to assist with some of the activities.  If you've never been to Indoor Olympics, you can't miss this event!
