It's a Wrap!

We had an unusual, but fun, day in 6th grade.  :)  Our morning started with an assembly introducing our school-wide Operation Christmas Child project.  What an exciting opportunity we have to share God's love with children around the world!  Following our assembly, we learned about the various layers and structures of our Sun as we drew a diagram (with labels) in our science notebooks.  Then we dashed off to PE for running drills and activities--I hope everybody has deodorant in their backpacks.  Later in the morning, Mrs. Courtney taught us how to create "name bugs."  I can't wait for you to see these fascinating creatures!

The rest of the afternoon followed our normal schedule until we arrived at the last period of the day and we headed to the worship area for our Fall Fest Quick Start assembly.  Based on the volume level, I think the students were having a good time.  :)  Quick Start packets are due back on Monday, 9/17.  Please go over the packet information with your 6th grader, especially the T-shirt card (dark green).  The packets will be returned to the kids so they can finish fund raising for the event.  This year, our funds are going for a soccer field, a baseball field and the gym interior--yeah!

Your student should be bringing home the Gradelink user information for our online parent portal.  Please be sure to use the passwords exactly as they appear on the letters.  Also, I'll be checking the behavior pages for weekly signatures on Monday.  The 6th graders wrote "signatures" in their planners so they'd remember to check with you, but I thought I'd throw out another reminder just in case ...

Would you believe we just finished another week of 100% memory assignments?  Way to go, kids!  Have a wonderful weekend.  :)

PS:   Also, Ms. Trulove is recovering from accidently stepping on a sewing needle--Ouch!  It broke off in her foot and she had to have the needle removed.  I'm sure she'd love to have some prayers said for her and her foot.  :)
