Not Your Average Monday

We started our day with dress rehearsal #1 for the Christmas program.  The students are doing an impressive job with their singing and acting, and I can't wait for you to see the program!  Remember to mark your calendars that we will have presentations at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM.  (Students are expected to participate in both performances.)

With regard to dress for the program, the children should wear standard of dress for the 2:00 PM service--red, green or white tops and regular standard of dress slacks.  For the 7:00 PM service, the students may wear standard of dress (as at the 2:00PM program), or they may wear clothes that are a bit dressier--no jeans, please.  Also, for non-standard of dress, please review the handbook or call/email if you have questions about appropriate styles.

Following is a brief schedule for the week:

  • Tuesday, 12/18:  You are invited to attend the Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten Christmas program which starts at 6:30 PM.
  • Wednesday, 12/19:  "The Night Before Christmas Caper" will be performed at 2:00 PM and at 7:00 PM.
  • Thursday, 12/20:  This is a free dress day (check handbook for requirements) and an early release day (11:15 AM)  Our day will begin with Chapel, followed by our 6th Grade Christmas party.  The students voted to have a White Elephant gift exchange (if you have to purchase something, please keep it under $4 or $5).  We will also bring an item of nonperishable food to donate to the Food Bank.  Last but not least, The students should bring a snack or treat to share--categories are hearty snacks (like cheese or meat), chips, sweets, or soda pop/juice.
  •  Also, Thursday is a Short Day Sweet Shoppe day, so your child might want to buy a treat at the end of school.  The proceeds go towards the 8th Grade Washington D. C. trip.
  • Christmas break begins Thursday at 11:15 AM and school resumes on Thursday, 1/3/2013.  :)
