Today, science was full of hot air--literally!  We started off our morning watching the 4th grade balloon launching outside.  The still, cold air was perfect.  The hot air balloons lifted off perfectly and looked awesome floating in the sky above us.  Then, because it was our "wacky science" Friday, we turned a bar of Ivory soap into a souffle using the microwave.  Of course, that presented a perfect opportunity to talk about the effect of heat on gases.  Finally, we used air to help drive plain straws through raw potatoes.  I think a good time was had by all.  :)
