Happy Monday, everyone! It was really fun to have all the students here today. :) During science, we met with Mrs. McCollum, our volunteer librarian. She taught us how to use the Sears List to find published information for our science research. The 6th graders need three good internet sites, one published source and one "expert" for developing the topic background section of their project reports. Some students jotted down the Dewey numbers for books to look for at the Mid-Columbia Liabrary. The kiddos will be researching important science concepts, ideas, and theories which apply to their individual topics. In addition, they will look for other, similar projects which have been carried out by others. This research will form an important foundation for both project planning and for helping readers understand the investigation.
