Just a reminder that we are collecting gifts and shoeboxes for Operation
Christmas Child for a packing party on Friday, November 7. Brochures
went home with students this week with ideas for gifts. The middle school
is focusing on school supplies and hard candies (in ziplock bags), as well as
hygiene items and toys. Also, we are asking our families to use plastic
shoeboxes, decorating the boxes in Christmas wrap. For ideas on what to
buy (and what not to buy), please check out the brochure your student
brought home or visit the OCC website at
Thanks for your help with this worthy project. :)
Tomorrow the 6th graders are celebrating mole day by learning about the "Sweet
Side of Chemistry: Candy." For our lab, each student needs to bring about three
pieces each of two types of sour candy (e.g., lemondrops, warheads, pixie stix, etc.).
Candies should be placed in a ziplock bag.
