At chapel, Pastor Davis' message was all about fall--the "fall" recorded in Genesis 3! What a comfort to know that because Jesus came to Earth to pay for our sins, we can have salvation and eternal life in heaven with God. :)
We worked on our literature worksheet for chapters 9 & 10. The Hispaniola has finally sailed, so let the adventure will begin! In science, we continued planning for our Imagine Mars project by focusing on our communities--what we value, what's unique, what we might want to change, etc. The 6th graders need to take 2-3 pictures of places, people or things which they value in their communities. The photos will be due on Monday, 10/15, and may be uploaded to PowerPoint or emailed to me at school. For our last morning period together, we began brainstorming ideas for the 2012 VFW Patriot's Pen Essay. This year's topic is "What I Would Tell America's Founding Fathers" and should be 300-400 words in length. The official description and paperwork will be coming home with your student tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a PE day, so students will need their PE uniforms and shoes here at school. We will continue our fitness testing. Also, if you were unable to come to the LEST Information Night, it's not too late to sign up for a team/event. Just email the coach and the office; students will need parental permission to participate.
See you tomorrow!
